My content, my thoughts, my digital home

Back in the 90’s we had our previous business and lived in a smaller city next to Seattle. In that city, at that time, Boeing had one of it’s headquarters there.

As a business we were very active in the community and with the school district. One year in particular we were nominated for the award, Business Committed to Education. And, ended up being a finalist, against Boeing..

Long story short, it was a proud moment for us but we knew our winning would not happen, obviously. Also the fact we had given a lot of time pro bono vs. a rather large grant that Boeing gave to the district.

The awards event was a little awkward. People came up to congratulate us, but you could also see they must have been thinking, “there’s no chance in hell you are winning”. LOL

The dinner and the event was great. And the outcome came in as expected.

But on the other hand, how many small companies can say they were up against Boeing for an award.

But on another note, we won a Chamber of Commerce award, “Business Committed to the Community”. Who were we up against that time? IKEA.
