People will cheer for others, in business and life up to that special moment.
Outside our window this morning is the Goldenergy Matosinhos Mar de Desporto Half Marathon. And we can hear the cheers in our living room.
I love seeing everyone cheering them on.
Judy and I were watching it and she stepped back in time to her running a race in Spokane, Washington in the U.S. called the Bloomsday Run, in the mid to late 1970’s.
In this run there was a part of it called the Doomsday Hill. A very steep hill that was part of the race.
We both thought about that.
At the finish line you have those cheering you on.
At the top of the Doomsday Hill there were also a large group of spectators.
You might think they are there celebrating that one specific win.
Or cheering you on after your pain and suffering.
But there were those who jeered you. They yelled out things like, “Hey, kind of tough huh?: or “thought you could make it”. And these days I feel there would be more of that with the way the world is. Having fun seeing people in pain. Or enjoy seeing in your face, the suffering. And that makes me sad.
BTW I’m always cheering you on.
