My content, my thoughts, my digital home

This is a gray area for me because I have been both a guest on dozens of podcasts, and, of course, on the other end talking with hundreds of guests over the years.

But let’s take this from the podcasters view.

What is a guest?

I did a quick question to our friend search AI. And this was the answer.

Based on the provided search results, a guest is a person who is entertained in one’s house or attends an event as a visitor. In a broader sense, a guest can also refer to:

  • An actor or performer who appears as a visitor in a TV show, program, or event (e.g., a guest star or guest editor).
  • A non-regular participant who attends an event, such as a social gathering, conference, or party.
  • A stranger or outsider who is welcomed into a home or community, often with hospitality and respect.

Now as with everything that you will hear me talk about here, it really depends on the podcaster and the criteria they behold their guests to. This can be that you only invite guests that you want. They must be able to meet certain expertise and influence. They must pull in the numbers. They know the ins and outs of all things tech around podcasting.

Well, others may be a bit more flexible. It all really depends.

How I look at guests

I tend to view it as a guest in my home. And that’s me. It’s not the wrong or right way, but just what works for the people
