Where did the podcast go?
One minor detail. I noticed that my subscribers did not get either of the two podcast episodes. When checking my site feed, where did they go? Then it hit me. I host my podcast on Castos and use their plugin Seriously Simple Podcasting. And have for years.
But what I have never done is use their custom post type for my episodes. Thus, they were not being included in the site feed. Of course the podcast has it’s own feed, but still.
So I asked ChatGPT about this. They suggested either a plugin to insert a code snippet. My experience with code snippets goes back to using a plugin for that. But seriously, pay for one or put something on the site for a single snippet?
But also it gave me some code. Mmmmm. That was nice. Although aside from a plugin I had no idea in how the hell to add this. So it created a simple plugin for me.
Uploaded it to my staging site, and like magic, it worked. Checked my feed and saw the episodes in it. This may not be exciting for some of you, but damn, that was slick. Did I just freaking vibe code without knowing it. One wonders.
