My content, my thoughts, my digital home

End of last week I was notified that my Elgato Wave XLR (on the right) had been delivered. I’ve been waiting for it anxiously as my Rodecaster Duo (on the left) is crapping out on me. Keep in mind, the Wave is even smaller than the proportions in this image.

Anyway, I picked it up at our gate and was surprised by the size of the box. Now I know that packaging doesn’t always reflect the size of what’s in it, even the original packaging. But yet I double-checked that this was my package and carried it away with some doubt.

It certainly felt heavier than I expected.

Once I opened it, the box inside was not much smaller, and the label had me wondering, what the hell is this?

Opening it up didn’t alleviate any of my concerns as I wasn’t even sure what I was looking at. I do know it was not a Wave.

Yes, I did google it to at least have an idea of what I was looking at and to be honest, I didn’t know such a thing existed, let alone how you would use it. But I learned more about it and now know that the time I spent during the process of opening and familiarizing myself with it is something I would never get back.

Now just imagine if I was the kind of guy that recorded unboxings.
