what about just not commenting

This has nothing to do with blog commenting. In fact, as an example, let’s talk about commenting on posts on X.

As you likely know, AI is now helping people comment on posts with this stilted, overthought, annoying comments. If you can’t think of anything to say, people are creating apps and other AI stuff that will comment for you.

Of course these are the same people who live on the fact that X is the ultimate platform and you should be commenting, engaging, blah blah blah.

And they are also, often, the same people who say, it’s important to be authentic. wtf?

So I have a solution. If you have nothing to say that is worth anyone taking the time to read, just move on. Simple as that.
