There are two areas in WooCommerce that I have found most users struggle with the most. Shipping and taxes.

So whenever a new extension or plugin comes out that will make life easier in either parts, I’m all for it. And I know the WooCommerce users are as well.

Extra Shipping Options for WooCommerce

I love conditional logic in a plugin. And that’s what you will find in the Extra Shipping Options for WooCommerce. If you aren’t familiar with what that means, in a nutshell it gives you the ability to create actions based on a variety of fields and options. Something like: If you choose this, then this happens.

Let me explain this a bit more. Suppose you need to add a pickup location or a delivery date with a certain shipping rate. You will be able to add these kinds of fields and more with this plugin. But in addition, using conditional logic, you will be able to choose what fields appear based on other criteria like the items in the carts, a shipping address or some other action the customer takes.

As taken from their site, here is list of features that come with this plugin.

  • Add unlimited options to shipping rates
  • Use conditional logic to decide when options are displayed to the customer
  • Add fees to any of the new options
  • Choose from different types of field to add: checkbox, radio button, text, text box, dropdown, date picker
  • Precise control over field types such as ability to disable weekends in the date picker and only allow dates in the future to be selected

A Look at the Extra Shipping Options

Once you have installed and activated the plugin, you will find your Extra Shipping Options settings here.

If we click to add a extra shipping option, here are the settings you get.

In the Extra Shipping Option conditions you will see all the different variables included. And if note on the screenshot above, you can add as many “or” conditions as you need.

As you can imagine this plugin offers you the chance to add endless options to your shipping based on all of these conditions.

They noted on their site some examples and use cases which to me just touches the tip of the iceberg.

Delivery Dates

Not only can you give your customers the option to choose a delivery date, but you could also display an expected delivery date or time span based on their location or their order. In addition, you could show a delivery date field with specific dates that would depend on their zip code. The latter would be very helpful if you wanted to group deliveries to certain neighborhoods or even cities.

Pickup Locations

If you have multiple pickup locations, you can also control this. The option could come in very handy if certain products were only available at certain locations or you didn’t want to hassle with massive inventories spread across all locations.

Offer Other Shipping Options

Want to give you customers other options? Maybe insurance is available on items that cost more than $300. Or you might want to include gift wrapping or allow people to track orders. The options for adding additional fields is wide open and there to fill your specific needs.

Dropshipping

If you are looking at a way to use WooCommerce for your dropshipping, check out our post here.

So if you want to easily add options and features to your shipping via WooCommerce, this plugin is invaluable.
