If you built your eCommerce site with the WooCommerce plugin, and you are using Yoast SEO Premium, the WooCommerce Yoast SEO Extension can get your products to show up even more frequently in search and social. In fact, I have recommended it to several clients who using or planning to use WooCommerce.
It will enhance how your products look on Twitter cards. It will also let you control your sitemap better with your products, ensuring that making the right information is being indexed.
It uses Yoast breadcrumbs, which are more configurable (vs. the WooCommerce breadcrumbs) and allows the WooCommerce content block to always be above the SEO block on your edit page.
Lastly, in its latest version, it improves the sharing experience for your products on social media, specifically Pinterest.
If you are not familiar with Twitter cards, but are selling online products, I highly recommend you do some research on these. The benefit of this extension is that it lets you choose what will be shown on your Twitter product cards.
And if you do not find the attribute you want to add to your Twitter card, you can create a new one under Products > Attributes. To learn more about Twitter card validation, check out this site.
Schema & OpenGraph additions
This feature improves the output of Schema and OpenGraph markup. In a nutshell, it dramatically improves the sharing on social media, including Pinterest. In fact, with it, Pinterest will recognize your product as a product and not just another pretty image on the web.
I recommend that you check this box to get more control over customizing your breadcrumbs for WooCommerce-related pages.
I recommend that you check both of these boxes unless you have been advised otherwise.
If you use WooCommerce, this can help you get your products out there. Apart from the settings I have shown you, WooCommerce Yoast SEO Extension does some things automatically, like removing stuff from your WooCommerce plugin that doesn’t belong on your XML sitemaps.
I would suggest checking this one out if you use Yoast SEO Premium and WooCommerce to help you get the functionality you want from your site and the ability and enable you to share your products effectively on social media.
