I have always considered WordCamp Seattle my hometown WordCamp. Mainly because I have always lived somewhere nearby. In the past, I have been the lead organizer, on the organizing team, a speaker, a trainer an—always—an attendee.
This year my plan is to just enjoy it, meet new friends, reconnect with old ones, and, of course, bring my podcast to the camp. This year, Avalara is sponsoring our podcast for this event. Avalara helps WooCommerce and WordPress businesses achieve compliance with transactional taxes, including sales and use, VAT, excise, communications, and other tax types.
As always, November 4th and 5th will surely be it will be a blast.
Let’s Talk Taxes at WordCamp Seattle
A few months ago, I had the pleasure of partnering with Avalara on a four-part podcast around online sales taxes. I also had the chance to visit their main office in Seattle and do one of the podcasts from there.
I don’t care what you sell online, it’s something we all need to deal with. And more times than not, it’s best left to the pro’s. So we will be recording our podcast with Avalara and will be talking about: The Top 10 Tax Tips for Selling on Your WordPress Site. The show will air November 8th. But heck, that shouldn’t stop you from swinging by Avalara’s booth and saying hi to them. In fact, if you sell online, or have an online retail store, make a point to stop by and check them out.
And be sure to hunt me down. I may be doing some other fun audio or even video, stuff and might just want to pull you in 🙂 Of course, I am always up for a hug, a hello or a chat.
Oh, and You Really Should Go to WordCamp Seattle
If you are close enough to make it happen, I would also suggest going to WordCamp Seattle this year. They have some great speakers, both local and from afar who will teach you about all aspects of WordPress. There are individual talks, panels, and yes, the workshops. You can see the full WordCamp Seattle schedule here.
You also get lunch on both days. And did I mention all the cool people you will meet? In fact it, will only cost you $40 for both days. Heck of a deal, huh?
I hope to see you there on November 4th and 5th!
