Yes, an official BobWP app for iOS and Android. It has happened!
And all the credit and gratitude goes to the wonderful people at AppPresser and their amazing mobile technology.
The BobWP App
First, I must admit that I had someone set this all up for me, although they do make it easy. I now have an app online, ready for me to easily make edits to if I wish.
There a ton of people out there who love and use apps of all sorts. Sure, not every business might find the need for one. Or you may be someone who is thinking, Oh, another app. Actually, I did ponder this move. Would anyone really want my app? decided, heck, yes. It boils down to two things.
- I want my content accessible to all. And if having using my app makes their life better, so be it.
- Mobile is big and getting bigger. That’s another good reason to add it. Because customers want choices.
So watch this video. I’ll take you through my app and show you just how cool AppPresser is.
Customizing and Notifications
There are several settings that I went over in the video that were something I probably won’t be dealing with much myself since I did have someone else create this app. But there are a couple of features that I did want to point out in this post that I did cover as well in the video.
As a User, Customizing Your App
This is the place most users without dev experience will spend their time. It will be on the Apppresser site in your own apps dashboard and essentially, it is the customizer, so something you are familiar with. It’s also real time changes so you can see what how your app will change.
You will also note that you can:
- Save Your Changes
- Go Live with your changes
Colors of Your App
As you can see here, there are a lot of options for changing the colors on the app as well as adding your own CSS if that is your thing.
Here are a variety of settings that you will find. I am not going over each of them, but there are some nice options in here for what to display or not, push notifications and your app logos.
As you can see here, the ease of changing your menu is as easy as changing your WordPress sites menu.
I did point out in the video that this was one of my favorite options as a user. The ability to add and delete the pages on my app.
If you click on add a page, you will get these options. You can also preview the template on any of those.
And if we were to click on an existing page I have, here are the options for it.
As far as the push notifications go, this will show the number of subscribers and some other profile info for your notifications.
The one option on this page I wanted to share was the Send New Push. You can control what segment it goes out to and what page it should open. Of course you don’t want to go crazy with this, but on the other hand this gives you the opportunity to send out something special that is going on that would help your subscribers. You have a eCommerce site? Maybe it’s a special sale for subscribers only. Or something else along that lines. You get the point.
So as you can see, this is a pretty slick way to create that mobile app for your WordPress site. Of course I didn’t go over the whole process, but I can guarantee you that it’s much easier than doing it from scratch. You may want to have someone help you get it up and running, or not, that is totally you choice. I would suggest you go over to Apppresser and check it out, and shoot them any questions you might have. This may be just what you have been looking for.
