I am a WordPress plugin developer from Hutchinson, KS, and am the owner of Sandhills Development, LLC. We build Easy Digital Downloads, AffiliateWP, Restrict Content Pro, and numerous other WordPress plugins.

What was the coolest thing you saw happen in the eCommerce space in 2016?
A renewed focus by developers to make eCommerce on WordPress truly perform. Scaling eCommerce sites on WordPress has been a challenge since the beginning, but in 2016 there have been some truly great strides made in getting past those hurdles.

Now time to look to the future. Tell us your prediction for what we might see coming to eCommerce in 2017?
We will continue to see significant improvements from developers that help store owners operate more efficiently and at larger scales. We will also begin to see more players move towards hosted eCommerce as a service.
Give us your one best tip for anyone who is considering starting their first online store.
Don’t worry about getting everything perfect right away. You will have time to adjust, improve, and tweak your eCommerce store after it is up and running. You need to get your first sales rolling in before you’re too obsessed with perfection.
Lastly, tell us what was your favorite place to shop online for the holidays and why.
Amazon. It’s just so convenient for almost everything I need.
