What About Bob? (WP)

Earlier this week I launched Do the Woo, my next big project. As a result, my focus is moving to the new site and growing the WooCommerce builder community.

It’s something I am extremely excited about and looking forward to.

Why the change?

I have been writing tutorial posts and teaching beginners and DIY’ers WordPress since 2008, and WooCommerce since its release. I’ve written a lot of these posts. It was time for a change, to find a new energy that came from years in both the WordPress and Woo ecosystems. Thus, the new Do the Woo.

What About BobWP?

I don’t think I could ever compete with Bill Murray, yet I couldn’t help stealing the title of his film. But, no, this isn’t about a neurotic but kind Bob.

To answer the question in a nutshell, the brand BobWP continues on. I’m just hanging my hat more on the Do the Woo site.

So what can you expect to see here?

As you can guess, the archives will live comfortably in their home here as my traffic shows that people still are finding them via Google and using them to educate themselves.

I won’t be writing any more tutorials, at least for awhile. But I will occasionally write a post here and you can expect it will still be around the subject of WordPress, if not specifically Woo, in the short-term.

I will also be reaching out to some people I know and asking them to write a guest post. This is something I haven’t done before and, to be honest, I am going to be picky about it and not just throw the opportunity out into the wild. In fact, the first qualifier of any guest post will be that I know them personally.

As far as the long-term, who’s to know? I foresee the site eventually turning more into a personal/professional blog. I’ve done a lot of stuff in my life in both realms. Lots of crazy, fun, interesting and sometimes unusual experiences. There may just be a time when those start to creep in, maybe sooner than later.

Aside from the new site, you can always find me on Twitter @bobwp and on WooCommerce, WordPress and PostStatus Slack. And if you want to drop me a line here, aside from the attempt to sell me or ask me to be an affiliate, you can do that here.
