Facebook Sharing Options Are Changing
Over on WordPress.com, they recently shared an article that all third-party tools used for social sharing will no longer work when sharing content on your Facebook profile. For WordPress.com, that is specifically their Publicize tool. And there are dozens of other social sharing services and plugins that also will be affected. I see this as a control-tightening measure on Facebook’s part. Th good news? This doesn’t affect your pages, just your profile. In our case, I never schedule anything for my personal profile, so this doesn’t affect our strategies. But if you depend on your profile for social sharing on Facebook, it may be time to rethink things or convert your profile to a page.

It was fun to hear how things are moving along with them and why they decided to dive into the WordPress eCommerce plugin space. In fact, we will be having James on our podcast in September to catch up with how things are going and what this plugin can do for you—and we will be taking a lot at it ourselves on our blog.

Taxes, you know that thing you have to deal with no matter who you are? Well, a bit over a week ago the Supreme Court moved toward closing that loophole for tax-free eCommerce transactions. They have ruled that internet retailers can be required to collect sales taxes even in states where they have no physical presence. That is freaking huge, right? It’s all about lost taxes and the unfair advantage online sellers have had over physical retailers.
On a side note, if you are using WooCommerce and wondering how you can comply with what is on the horizon, they have a post on how to enable automated calculations and filing that you might want to check out.
