My content, my thoughts, my digital home

In my earlier years something always nagged at me. It stated with my fascination with photography at a very young age. Simple cameras, and yes, the Polaroid Instant Camera.

By the time I was into college, I started playing with 35mm cameras. Took a short lived course in Community College, and a few years went back to a night class at a university to learn dark room development.

From there a camera always played a part. My first digital camera, which I struggle to remember the brand, was around 1meg or less. Later on I upgraded to a Canon 35 mm digital camera which really got me into the groove, having purchased several lens and taking up photography as a more serious hobby.

During our years of running our marketing and design business, I started doing my own photography for clients work on print projects, when my skills met the challenge.

As time went on I dropped my interest, at least in taking a lot of photos as a hobby, and during the recent years have depended more on the iPhone just like most people.

I’m at a turning point where I am getting the itch to buy me a lower end 35mm camera soon.

What about that alternative career?

Since I was quite young something nagged at me over many decades. That was to make a living doing wildlife photography. I love animals, and the thought of sitting and waiting for that perfect shot, intrigued me. And far from discouraged me. But it never happened and this was that alternate career that just never happened.

Give in to the itch! Can’t wait to see photos from you with that motivation behind it. Are you also considering black and white photography?

Ha, yes. In a perfect world I know the camera I would want when and if I carve the time and opportunity for this. But for now I’d work with what I have.

And omg, love black and white photography. So you just never know ;)

And then, suddenly, at WCEU 2024 we got a chance to play with a Polaroid camera again!

Yes, that was so cool, felt like a step back in time. I actually filled mine with shots, but now realize I didn’t get those developed. Gotta find them!
